Powering a 380v/50Hz Deckel FP2 Aktive

Howdy All,

I've recently acquired an FP2 Aktiv that was imported from Europe, thus is a pure 380v/50hz machine. My mains power is 3 phase 240v (delta high leg). I've explored various strategies for powering it, and have more or less settled on using a 240v-380v transformer. This should satisfy the various control transformers, DC feedmotor controls and inductors in the electrical cabinet. That still leaves the v/Hz ratio on the spindle motor to be dealt with. For that I'm considering a VFD to correct the problem. The spindle motor is 2 speed, and I'd like to preserve the operation of the machine controls as it was intended to work (ie. pushbutton switches for speed 1 and 2). I think some VFD's can be wired to work this way.

I've searched the forum for a while and haven't found the definitive answer as to the best approach.

Am I going about this correctly? Is this the most elegant way?

Appreciate your opinions, thank you.

Kind Regards,

Don
