I have purchase a separate 24 volt dc transformer to power my control on the fp4nc. The reason for doing so is two fold, one is I want to be able to charge the batteries in the control when the machine is off and two I would like to isolate the control from the rest of the machine. The reason for wanting to isolate is so when I start my spindle my control shuts down because the voltages drop due to my rpc being on the smallish side. My question is if both systems are isolated from one another can I cause any damage to the machine or the control if the power were to fault on one side or the other. So worst case scenario my machine in running a program and everything is on and the power to my 24 volt transformer were suddenly cut, or if I overloaded the servo's or spindle and the 380 volt side were to cut. Any input is appreciated.
