So, on the offhand chance Felmann machines are no longer as expensive as they used to be I inquired about new price for a Picomax 54. Turns out they stopped making the 54 in 2010. Now you choose either the ultimate manual small mill jig bore Picomax 20 or full blown VMC, the Picomax 56.
Quote on the 20 comes thru at 28,000 CHF and I'm thinking...well, that's pretty painful but sort of maybe doable...but then realize that does not include the X/Y table...which is another 27,000 CHF ! :eek:
The table is nicer than it used to be...includes ballscrews, integral power feeds and DRO...but still...about $28,000 just for that little X/Y table is tough to swallow. And that's direct from the factory pricing.
So, major "poof" on that idea.... :dopeslap:
