I bought an old FP2 for a very good price, unseen. I saw it today at the freight depot. It's only head is the precision boring head from the LK jig bore machines, and it looks like it has been used hard as a vertical milling head.
i would be surprised if the internals in this head are up to heavy duty work. Can anyone comment on doing what I assume will be a needed overhaul of this head or continuing to employ it as a general milling head?
i will of course start hunting for the correct vertical head.
(The machine also has a non genuine but workable horizontal arbor support)
included is an extensive collection of tooling, including the complete set of Deckel SK40 collets and adapters
Thanks
Greg
