Deckel motor HZ vs RPM differences between countries

So, I'm curious as motors run at different speeds for the HZ, and my motor on my Deckel is 60HZ, and it states 840/1720 (looks like 1720 to me).

At 50HZ the motor would run at 1400~ RPM, and in the German manual it states 700/1400 U/min, so that makes sense...But the speeds are the same on the machine plate and gearing itself, AFAICT.

If the motor is going at different speeds, how could that be ?

This seems like such an obvious question, I hope I'm not overlooking something.

Most motors run at 1725 RPM in the North America, since we're at 60HZ. But in a country that had 50HZ, would the motor just be wound differently ?

Obviously Deckel must have supplied 50HZ motors to some countries, all of which I'm not sure. But my motor says 60HZ 1720 on it.

For extra credit, does U/min stand for Umdrehungen per minutes ?

EDIT: maybe they do it with the pulley connected to the spindle ??? (that must be)
