Deckel FP1 Unpaint

I've had this peach colored FP1 for quite a while. FWIW I believe this to be the same peachy paint that covered another members FP3 which has since been totally redone. I wasn't that ambitious so I picked up a bottle of this Goo Gone at Home Depot and went after the FP1 with that. It took a while, like a few hours in some cases, to get under the peach paint but it eventually wrinkled it up and I scraped it off with a plastic scraper. I then spent some time wiping and rubbing down the paint but gosh it came out really great. The Goo Gone didn't damage the original paint at all and now you can't even tell it was ever painted over. I tried the same process on the electrical cabinet and motor but no success there. Something about the machine paint, maybe the high gloss or something, that discouraged the over coat from sticking. The peach on the motor and e cabinet never peels plus the Goo Gone attacked the motor and electrical cabinet original paint a bit as well. Anyway, I'm super happy with the machine and will have to find another place to try this out.
