I have an Abene mill, and want to use the overarm and a slitting cutter. I don't have the NMTB 40 arbor for the spindle yet. What I don't understand is how the end of the arbor will attach to the overarm? The overarm on the Abene looks to consist of a 1 7/8" brass bushing but I may be missing pieces -- obviously something fits in that hole... but, I am not familiar with horizontal mill setup or what that something is. I know the arbor will have a nut on the end... but how does it fit into the overarm (does it extend past it?) When I browse NMTB 40 arbors on ebay they seem to have different shaped nuts, and no obvious clue how the non-spindle end is support by the overarm... is it simply a matter of constructing another bushing based on the arbor's size? Bearings?
