I have an opportunity to purchase a Schaublin 53. The Schaublin comes with the high speed head (6,000 rpm) and quill and a few bits of tooling (horizontal arbors, micrometer accuracy scales etc). The issue I have is that I know little about the Schaublin 53 (outside the sales brochure from the 60's) and if I purchase it I will give up the space I have penned for a Deckel FP2LB (should one ever rear its head).
I own an FP2, so the FP2LB makes sense from the attachments and tooling perspective. That said, am I crazy to give up the opportunity to take a Schaublin 53 in its place?
