Hi again, you might remember me from my previous thread Bought two Rivetts, well two turned more into four.
Now I'll get on topic, I went to go see a Diamond M-24, and it was in rough shape. One T-slot was almost completely broken off and it was just a mess. Then the guy says, "oh yeah I got this big vertical mill." So we walked over and I saw a punch press and some other machines, expecting it to be a Bridgeport or some old American mill, nope it was a very early European mill, now think in your head what mill it would be? A Deckel?A Maho? What would expect to be on the west coast? Got your answer? Its an Abene, post what you thought it was.
The Abene is a very early 2 not 2b it takes 40 taper, and instead of three levers to change the spindle speeds it has only two.
