Old VH2B Questions

1. The old VH2B's had toggles instead of dials to change spindle speeds.
Does anyone know what year this change occurred and if the spindle change from MT4 to the 40 taper occurred at the same time? The machine I am looking at has toggles and I am trying to estimate its date based on a very limited picture.

2. What areas of an Abene should be checked on a pre purchase inspection? If there is a link to a previous post please let me know.

3. Am I correct in assuming any accessories that are not included would be expensive to purchase separately. ie dividing heads, face mills saws etc
