Abene feed transmission in knee- is there a gasket?

Howdy Folks,

I'm about to reinstall the feed transmission into the knee of my Abene and can't recall if there is supposed to be a gasket or not (it's been over a year, and my memory isn't so great). I'm guessing not given that would make positioning of the gears problematic, but I also recall there being oil in the knee... FWIW I don't see evidence of a gasket, but do see a thin layer of blue stuff that comes up with a razor and WD40.

Thoughts?
