Hi, this is my first post. I am Faan from South Africa.
Thanks to the excellent information I found on this forum, I recently retrofitted a Maho 600E2 1989 4axis,with linuxcnc and the original glass scales, servo motors and drives. Linuxcnc only reads the scales and drive the analog signals.
It was a dead machine with no manuals and my first retrofit, so please bear with my ignorance.
Machine is running, but there are some finishing touches needed and I am stuck.
Problems are, hydraulics come on/off repeatedly when any solenoids are operated. The pressure switch controls the pump, is this right?Whole machine was rewired.
The 4th axis(maho) has some backlash and I cannot see how this is adjusted for(cannot find any drawing of the 4th axis).
Spindle stop is brutal, spindle servo motor decelerate so fast that i fear the gears will not last, this does not seem right.
Lastly I am having a hard time getting a starting overshoot tuned out with PID, can this be backlash and how do I measure it, glass scales read the position and no encoder on motor, only tacho?
