Hi all,
Just finished a Mahogany inlay in a Black Walnut cabinet door. It was a surprise anniversary gift to my wife of 25 years( she calls my Deckels the green machines)
It was a reproduction of her mothers 1930s Singer sewing machine cabinet.Tthe only the we had was the original Mahogany legs and some broken side pcs.
With the help of my neighbor Bill( a real wood worker) I was able to pull this off. Bill said the diamond inlay was out of his league so I said no problem I can handle that part. I only had one door and one pc. of Mahogany for the insert so I did a sample out of engraving stock.
I used the D4 contour pocket canned cycle for the door and the contour definition with regular cutter comp. for the insert.
Here are some pictures.
