What type of tool holders does a Deckel FP4NC use?

Can I use standard Cat-40 tooling? Do I need a unique thread or retention knob?

Thanks in advance.

That hides the drive belts and chains.
Is there a trick or do I have to remove the motor?

For sale Deckel FP3 mill in Oregon

$

Hate to do this but my FP3 is up for sale. The building complex I am in has been sold and will be used for growing Pot for commercial sales here in Oregon so we are getting evicted and I will now have a much smaller shop. Mill is in good operating condition.I have owned it for about 3 years and used it occasionally. The mill has two tables, standard and all angle, slotting head, boring head. custom built deep hole drilling head(never used, just came with the mill when I bought it)as well as collets and a lot of 40 taper tooling that has been converted for use in the H/V spindles. I don't have time to ship it so it must be picked up in Portland, Oregon. A forklift is available for loading. I will put this on the Portland, Oregon Craig's list tonight, along with pictures, in the tools section. If you are interested send me a private message with your number and I will call you to answer any questions you have. Price is $7500, offers considered.

My Logan 10" has served me well but I've decided that the time has come to get a better lathe. The Deckel/Euro-mill group here has a lot of experience and good taste in machine tools, so I'd like your advice about specific lathe models to look for. Here's what I have in mind:

- Price (presumably used, in very good condition) under 10k Euros including 3 and 4 jaw chuck, steady, follower, DRO

- Center height at least 150mm = 6"

- Center-to-center length of at least 600mm = 24"

- "Toolroom" precision (~1 ton)

- Spindle bore at least 35mm = 1 3/8", capable of holding 5C collets in nose

- Spindle camlock or DIN 55022/55027 or similar, not threaded

- Spindle bearings and gearing lubricated via oil bath/pump system

- Speeds up to 2000 rpm (2500 or 3000 would be better)

- Flame- or induction-hardened bed

- Long enough compound to cut standard 40 and morse tapers or available taper attachment

- Powerful enough (at least 3hp/2kW) to cut down steel rapidly and smooth/massive enough to get fine finishes

- Can cut both standard inch AND standard metric threads via gearbox shifters, without adding/swapping change gears

- Vary speed via gearbox and back-gear shifters or continuous variable pulley system, not by swapping belts on pulleys

- Nice operating "feel"

- Integrated coolant collection and pump

- Automatic or one-shot lubrication system for the ways

Nice to have:

- Designed to mount 3-axis DRO (ie, including compound)

- Parts easily available in Germany either from manufacturer or from a large base of machines circulating on ebay and similar

- Operates from standard German 400V 50Hz 3-phase power.

Is there anything out there that satisfies all of these requirements?

Moderators: I'd understand if you want to move this thread to another forum, but I was really hoping to hear from people here that I know and trust.

Cheers,
Bruce

Hi
I have purchased this machine and thought maybe someone can help with some info.
It is very similar to an fp1 and it is made by a company called "INAS".
After searching the web I concluded that it is a prvomajska alg 100 badged a litlle differently.
Does anyone recognize or have some information/manuals on these machines ?

Hi deckel guys 😁

Just a quick question.

A head like this, what are the main purpose with it? (Whats it used for) And what can it be expected to cost in a sale?

Best regards

What to look out for?

Greetings folks,

I am thinking about seeing if I can pick up an fp nc machine either a 2 or a 3. It will be my first decent mill but I know very little about them. It seems many people love them and from what I have seen I really like the look of them too. They seem so versatile. I've decided its got to be a Deckel.:)

My question is what should i look out for in a 80's machine? I don't want to buy a lemon so other than general wear are there any issues with machines at that sort of age that I should look out for. I hear parts can be painfully expensive.

Best wishes

Lubricants for MAHO MH 600

$

Hi,

I have some questions regarding lubricants for my most recent investment, a MAHO MH 600:
(Some members call it an old mule!)

1. Recommended Main Gear oil is Mobil Vactra Oil Heavy Medium. Is it OK to use Total CARTER EP68?

2. Recommended H-drive oil is Mobil Velocite Oil No. 4. What would you choose from Total?

3. Recommended grease is Mobilux grease No. 2. Can I use AeroShell Grease 5 or 14 instead?

4. Mobil Velocite Oil ED seems to have be been discontinued and I cannot find any datasheet. Recommendations?

5. Is Total EQUIVIS ZS32 good for any kind of machine related lubrication?

6. Suitable plain bearing lubricant? My spindle has a tapered bronze and journal bearing.

I can get Total products from my work through our local supplier, so it's the preferred brand.

Thanks,

Brian

New (to me) Deckel FP1

$

Hello,

I'm hoping that I've pressed the right buttons to find the Deckel forum at large, never done this before. There seem to be Deckel owners all over the world and as I've just bought an FP1 I'm wondering if there are any near me in Devon, UK. My machine is from 1969 and I bought it from the original owner with the manufacturers cupboard full of good accessories and 3axis Accurite dro. It seems to be lightly used and in excellent condition but not used for some time, maybe years.

My problem at the moment is that it had a collet in the horizontal spindle very tightly gripped onto a drill. I loosened it ok and took out the drill but can't free the adaptor. I thought a tap with a leather mallet should do the job but it's stuck. Is there something I don't know? Is it threaded as well? Can't see anything on the drawings and I really don't want to use too much force.....!

Any ideas?

DHL Issues from Germany

I've got a package coming from Germany VIA Deutsche Post/DHL. Has anybody used this service and used there tracking?

The package was mailed April 10th and the only information I can get from the tracking number is that it was dropped off and scanned, nothing since.

The buyer has been very responsive to my emails and has contacted Deutsche Post/DHL but they don't know what happened.

I went to the Deutsche Post/DHL website which was only in German and using Google translate read that the only time you hear from them is when the package is dropped off. You don't get any tracking information it just gets dropped off at your place by USPS in this country.

When I put the tracking number into the USPS websight it tells me "Status not available"

If it makes any difference it's a Lathe with a value of $2500.00 I paid for it with a credit card so getting my money back isn't a problem. I would rather have the lathe than the money.

Maho MH 600P - Request for Documentation (Manual, Schematic, etc.)

Hello everyone.

I just got my hands on a Maho MH 600P for a fair price. Unfortunately, it came without any manuals or documentation. The pouch for the circit diagrams in the electronics cabinet is empty and I can see that the previous owner has made some rewiring here and there that I'd like to understand.

The Type-Plate refers to Circuit Diagram No. E692.
The machine originally had an older Heidenhain TNC, which was subsequently replaced with a TNC122. For some odd reason, they kept the cassette/printer unit from the older TNC attached, though it is disconnected now.

I can get the Heidenhain TNC Manuals from Heidenhain, but I can't seem to be able to find any documentation on the MH 600 itself.

Does anyone have manuals (preferably in German) for the machine that they could share with me?

Thank you very much in advance!

- Colin

Will late-model Aciera F5 slotting head fit early-model machine?

$

Does anyone know whether a late model Aciera F5 slotting head will fit an early-model F5 mill? The last-generation F5 design included an alignment pin and slot in the lower right corner of the ram face. The earlier generations used a tapered dowel in the lower left corner of the ram face. I am wondering whether the bolt hole spacing is the same, and the dog clutch dimensions are the same. The Aciera design relies on a retractable pilot bushing around the dog clutch to center the accessory heads on the face of the ram. The alignment dowel and pin and slot are not necessary, as the heads can be trammed manually. Unlike in the photo, the overarm is retracted fully out of the way when mounting accessory heads.

Deckel mill riser accessory....how many different versions are there ?

$

I have the impression there are two versions...one that uses the same gear pressure angles, to for example, rise a jig bore or spotter head on an FP2 or FP3, and another version that adapts an FP2 or FP3 to utilize an FP1 vertical head via different pressure angle gears. Am I right or is it more complex or simple than that ?

FP5 dialog4 with FP84 error after reset.

Hello,
After lunch my fp5 had shutdown and didn't respond anymore.
I powered down and repowered the machine ; noticed that the normal humming of pump wasn't there.
Looked in the power cabinet and status of sps was different then normal.
The code 1,2,3 and 4 led off in combination with led 5,6,7 and 8 on. (board on the left in the sps)

Looked up that code and the manual says something like 'no response' from the control unit.

Did a reset procedure on the control, that went well but after that two strange things :

- after setting the rs232 parameters , able to start downloading a program but after that finished the program list stayed empty.
Did several attempts but same result.
strangly the total available memory does go down.

- later also an sps error FP84 came up.
In 'not my' manual that points to a pallet error , but i don't gave that on the machine.

- On the left of the control the third led from the left is lit. Normally that was never the case if i remember correctly.
it's the /\/->| symbol , i'm not sure what it stands for.

p.s. the two attery voltages in the control are ok.
didn't check the one in the sps yet but age is the same as the others.

Anyone any idea what to look for ?

Gr.
Sander
