Unusual Deckel NC table

I have quite a few sales brochures of the Deckel NC series, but have never seen this table mentioned anywhere.
Anyone have any info on it?
I have seen similar arrangements on much later machines. I suspect it is used to allow for quick and precise changing of set-ups?
Threaded holes alternated with ground bushings. When not used there are plugs in them.
I picked this one up out of curiosity. It is standard FP3NC table casting, that never received T-slots, but got drilled instead.
Normally you can tell the date of each table casting on the bottom. In this case the holes make that impossible.
