question about the differences between Deckel GK 12 and GK 21

$

Hi All,

I am curious if parts from the table feeds on the GK 21 can be exchanged with parts from the GK 12. Both machines are imperial and I want to replace the hand wheel and feed screw from one machine (GK 21) that was damaged with the parts from a GK 12. They are both the late model versions and I have looked at the parts manuals on Sean's DVD and it appears that that is the case but I wanted to get some further advise. I know the motors and arms are different, but as far as I can tell, the base casting and the tables are the same. In a previous post, someone had described it as "everything below the shoulders" being the same.

Many thanks,
David

trying to fix NZP55 card problem

I have a problem, with my Deckel FP4NC (DIALOG2) serial-number10168 year1984.

The Z-axis don't appear anymore on the display.

There seems to be a problem in the Z-axis NZP55 card. (zahler-karte/counter-card)
I already switched it with the Y-axis card, the failure moved to the the Y-axis and the Z was okay, so I have to look further at the NZP55 card.
Does anyone have a scheme, for the NZP55 card? (or the later used NZP58 card)
Any (tips) repair info, would be very appreciated.

thanks Ysbrand.

I have some trouble with my 2nd FP3A dialog 11 machine.
when i try too start the machine up it stops undet the "self test" and i dont get "OK" for the SPS.
Can it be the NPC card that is the problem?

Hope someone can help me to fix this problem.

BTW, where can i buy spareparts from here in Europe? Do Glidemaster support spareparts for Deckel? Home - GILDEMEISTER Group

Are Deckel controls fragile?

I did not want to put it in another thread, so I'll ask it here: Are Deckel controls perhaps very fragile? Most recent threads here are now only about defective Deckel controls. I have the impression it's much less for Philips/HH/Fanuc controls.

OT- Anyone have photo links to modern Euro factory or warehouse interiors ?

What to do with a mid-60's FP1 electrical cabinet?

I am sorting powering up the mill in the shop with a drive and find that this cabinet is now obsolete...
What to do?

Is there value in keeping the gear with the mill as a 'package' in the off chance that it will be of importance to some future owner?
Or
Is there a market for this cabinet?

I have thought of-
-keeping with the mill
-selling the cabinet
-gutting the cabinet and making up a nice storage cabinet for the mill with drawers, shelves etc
-dumpstering the whole works and not looking back...

What do I need for the overarm end of a milling arbor for Abene?

$

I have an Abene mill, and want to use the overarm and a slitting cutter. I don't have the NMTB 40 arbor for the spindle yet. What I don't understand is how the end of the arbor will attach to the overarm? The overarm on the Abene looks to consist of a 1 7/8" brass bushing but I may be missing pieces -- obviously something fits in that hole... but, I am not familiar with horizontal mill setup or what that something is. I know the arbor will have a nut on the end... but how does it fit into the overarm (does it extend past it?) When I browse NMTB 40 arbors on ebay they seem to have different shaped nuts, and no obvious clue how the non-spindle end is support by the overarm... is it simply a matter of constructing another bushing based on the arbor's size? Bearings?

Thanks for educating me!

I picked up a Deckel GK 21

I purchased this panto recently to pull double duty as a manual mill and a quick way to copy broken parts. I help run a Maker space which is just a community workshop that people can become a member of to work on projects. I hope to group this with our 3d Printer and vacuum former to go from print, to prototype, to part, to product. I did happen to get a full set of English manuals with the machine, the technical bulletins, and parts lists. It came with a almost complete set of collets (Need the 3/8", though have some repeats) and replacement belts. I would like to know what the (german manual) formplattenhalter is? My machine is missing this and I fear I need it for rigid milling. I do have the table fastening block but do not have the ground spacer used to lock the head at zero (I can make one at work if someone is willing to give me the OAL). The seller also has a Deckel G1 L (with a ton of accessories) and a Gorton P2-2 that is well worn, shares accessories with the G1 and has a head spacer. Would these be worth picking up? I dont see a way to lock these machines for rigid milling, can it be done easily? Has anyone done a head swap on these with success? Also is there a drop in kit for the Deckel GK21 to have Z travel on the spindle for drilling holes besides moving the table up and down? Sorry for the million questions, New to panto"mills". I will post pictures here next week sometime. Thanks.

Help with DIN number, identifying collets

I picked up this lot of collets with some Deckel stuff I bought years ago, I do not think they are Deckel though, don't fit any machine that I know of. There are 25 collets in all, sizes from 1/4" to 1 1/4". There are numbers on some of them, 187.379.4, 187.377.4, and 187.371.4. I assume these are DIN numbers? Not sure. Also, there is a number: F-10013, on many of them, same number. I have a feeling they may be collets to a Starrag/Rigide machine, as there was a Starrag Rigide label in the bin with them. Any thoughts, if anyone knows a way to get those numbers identified, I'd appreciate it.

Four square milling

This may not be the right forum but I can't find another one which covers my question.

I have an FP1 and am having difficulty in machining a truly square 3/8" bar of aluminium.

I think it is the vice that is the trouble, it was second hand and is very good quality, but old.

There are precision vices which are angled so that lifting is eliminated. Is it worth spending money on a new vice?

Abene Deckel style mill

Has anyone noticed that Abene now makes a Deckel style mill ? The VF-270

Abene Machine AB

Also, the VHF-350 is the same basic Abene premise, but without the angled ram. Both are really nice looking mills. Wonder if they are "all Swedish" made ?

I also wonder if there is a single one of those two in the USA ?

I only noticed this, as for the first time in years I am "Abeneless" :ill:

Should I re-grind the table on my FP-1?

I am in the process of restoring a 1952 FP-1. The non-universal table is rough with a couple of mill marks in the top. Should I have it re-ground or would this be a mistake?

Thanks for the feedback.

Lusted after it years ago, back to lusting it after it considering how usefull it is owing to its relative portability, which would serve me well right now.

Used to search Ebay....knew it was fruitless search but what THe hell.
Never seen one mentioned for sale in the US , auctions or machinery dealers.

Diameter of motor pulley for 1952 FP-1?

$

Could someone tell me the proper diameter for the motor pulley on a 1952 FP-1.

This machine that I'm restoring originally had a 440v motor. I was able to locate a 220v motor from another early FP-1 that looks identical except for the pulley diameter. Either pulley will "work", but I would obviously like to use the proper diameter.

Thanks for the help,

Maho MH600P Electrical diagram wanted

$

I have a Maho MH600P with a TNC 122 (without a monitor)at the moment
It is a 3x220Volt machine and I have to convert it to 3x380 volts
Not much of a deal for the motors but I am not sure for 1 of the big transformers
Also I expect some other problems as this machine stood still for about 10 years

So now I am looking for the electrical diagram
The diagram nr is E951 but the one for 3x380 which has a bigger chance of getting hold of will also do
Anyone here that can help
